Sales of Rap Godz Board Game Raises $81,000 for Black Lives Matter and Other Organizations

Tabletop enthusiasts have raised almost $81,000 for Black Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter CA, NAACP, and Know Your Rights Camp through the sales of Rap Godz, a board game published by Board Game Brothas

The New Orleans-based Board Game Brothas was founded in 2017 by Omari Akil and Hamu Dennis, with Rap Godz successfully funding on Kickstarter in late 2018

The matching campaign was started by content creator Danny Quach, known online as DannyPlaysGamez, in a June 1 Tweet where Quach offered to donate $10 for every copy of Rap Godz sold. 

Seven groups and fifty individual joined to match the donations, including Geoff Engelstein, Sen-Foong Lim, Watch It Played, Panda Game Manufacturing, Eric Lang, Isaac Childres. 

Rap Godz sold out within in a week, with 653 games generated $80,916 in donations.
