Asmodee Entertainment, formed in 2018 to bring the game company’s intellectual property into TV, films, and more, have launched Aconyte, a fiction publishing imprint.
The division will publish novels based on Asmodee’s game properties. It will also pursue licenses for third-party tie-in fiction. The first of these is at the contract stage. Paperpack and ebook publishing will begin in early summer 2020 for US, UK and export markets.
Marc Gascoigne, publisher and managing director of the global scifi imprint Angry Robot, will run the imprint. Gascoigne has hired assistant editor, Lottie Llewelyn-Wells, and publishing coordinator, Nick Tyler. The company will be located in Nottingham, England.
Andy Jones, head of Asmodee Entertainment said: “Asmodee’s stated mission is to bring the world ‘Great Games, Amazing Stories’. Aconyte is another key milestone along that path, literally creating those amazing stories and bringing further depth, intrigue, characters, and narrative to some of the best game worlds ever created.”
