The owners of UK Games Expo are launching an industry convention targeted at publishers, designers, retailers and distributors. The Games Industry Conference (G.I.C) is planned for February 2021 in Birmingham, England.
The event will consist of a retailer summit, where publishers present short pitches about upcoming games. It will also have a Publishing Business Track which will include seminars and workshops on key aspects of running a publishing business, including: funding, manufacturing, taxes, VAT, accounting, logistics and international trade. The show will also provide for industry networking.
The cost of the convention is yet to be determines, but there will be a fee for attendance including breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Publishers will also pay a Publisher Presentation fee.
The company said the long lead time was an effort to make sure the event was needed and that they did it right.
