Immersive Live-Action Monopoly Experience to Open in London in 2020

Hasbro have partnered with Selladoor Worldwide to develop a 75-minute immersive theater experience to open in 2020 at an undisclosed London location, featuring team challenges where players move along a Monopoly board and buy property.

Selladoor CEO David Hutchinson said the company has been working with Hasbro for over a year developing the experiential concept for the Monopoly brand. Selladoor is a worldwide theater company based in London and founded in 2009.

“Trends in our sector are moving in a very exciting direction with demand from a new generation of theatre goers looking to experience live theatre differently, and to be immersed in the world of the narrative in a different way,” Hutchinson said. “I couldn’t think of a better organisation to partner with in this growing market, than the company who have brought together family and friends for decades to play some of their iconic games.”

Hasbro and Selladoor plan to roll out more consumer experiences over the next few years and beyond utilizing the wider Hasbro brand portfolio.

“Launching the Monopoly experience in London next year is just the beginning and we’re excited to bring more of our iconic brands to the stage in the future,” said Matt Proulx, VP of Location Based Entertainment at Hasbro.
