The Dots RPG Project, an organization dedicated to making role-playing games accessible, have been recognized as a non-profit and have been granted a 501(c)(3) tax status.
Dots was founded in 2017 by Jack Berberette to help his blind friend have better access to gaming. Berberette created a set of braille dice for use in role-playing games. Jess Dempsey took over the organization from Berberette last year.
The organization have expanded from the dice to also transcribing printed materials for 5e Dungeons & Dragons and other systems into braille books. They work closely with D&D Beyond to address screen reader accessibility, and optimization for those relying on keyboard navigation.
Their newest project is helping to create sign language for common RPG terms.
