Asmodee Germany have launched Open! Back in the Game, a retailer initiative, to solicit ideas and solutions for brick-and-mortar retailers. The company says it will share the results with the industry.
Asmodee started the project by surveying 100 merchants in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Ninety retailers responded. The survey results (in German).
Asmodee said the results show that retailers are focused on customers. One dealer responded, “The most important thing is that the customers come back to the shops.”
In addition, many retailers want offers that they can pass on to their customers, but that also benefit directly. Almost 85% of traders see the need for a higher margin just at the restart.
In addition, as soon as it is allowed again, many retailers want to be supported in new opening events (42%) and tournaments (26%).
The protection of customers is very important to many respondents, which is why around 40% of retailers are careful at events.
Asmodee Germany have already responded to some requests. The company lowered the minimum order amount for individual orders, a request of retailers in the survey.
“Our survey shows that retailers have good ideas and that creative solutions have already been tackled. But it also shows that sales and publishers need help. For Asmodee, it is important to give retailers the support that best helps them. Therefore, after detailed analysis, we will implement measures directly,” said Asmodee Commercial Director Yvette Vaessen.
