Comic book grading company Certified Guaranty Company have launched CGC Trading Cards, a division to authenticate, grade and enclose Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering cards.
CGC entered the comic book collecting market in 2000 when it became the first company to provide expert grading to comics while also encapsulating them in clear containers.
The company went on to provide similar services for magazines, concert posters and more.
The company said the trading cards will be graded by a team of expert graders, who are collectors and players themselves. Graders will be prohibited from buying and selling collectibles commercially.
The turnaround times will range from 30 working days for the lowest grading tier to just two days for the highest.
