Asmodee have acquired long-time partner Libellud, the French game best known for Spiel de Jahres winner Dixit.
The two companies formalized their relationship in 2010, allowing Libellud to focus on game creation while Asmodee became an exclusive distributor.
Libellud founder Régis Bonnessée will leave the company to develop other business projects. Mathieu Aubert, who has worked with Bonnessée for five years, will take the helm.
“For 12 years we have been developing innovative games to inspire people’s imaginations to share and dream, ultimately leading to the creation of unique universes. The Asmodee Group is a partner with whom we have been working since the beginning of our adventure and which shares our values,” said Bonnessée.
Libellud launched the Libellud Foundation last summer as a charitable foundation to support young people and education. Asmodee Group CEO Stephane Carville said they are happy to welcome the Foundation to the Group.
