Alliance Game Distributors to Furlough Employees

Geppi Family Enterprises, the parent company of Alliance Game Distributors and Diamond Comic Distributors, furloughed some of their non-business crucial employees yesterday.

Furloughed workers will retain their health benefits, with the company paying the cost of the premiums. The goal will be to return the employees to their current roles after the current issues had resided.

The Geppi companies have taken several actions to protect their exposure to the current shutdowns. Alliance closed operations and stopped shipping new product in March. They have also delayed payments to publishers, offered new terms to vendors, and reduced executive pay by 50%.

“As a company and an industry we will navigate what lies ahead and we are committed to emerging and thriving on the other side of this crisis. We look forward to the day when we are able to be together again and resume the weekly distribution of new product,” the company said in a statement.
