Snakes & Lattes have acquired ‘The Boardroom,’ a board game cafe located in Guelph, Canada, just outside of Toronto. The cafe will shutdown after three years of business on August 29. It will reopen in November as Snakes & Lattes fourth Canadian location.
Boardroom CEO Mark Mackinnon and Treasurer Rodrigo Goller are leaving the business to focus on their positions on the Guelph City Council.
“After searching throughout the summer, we are thrilled to have found the perfect partner to take over our cafe,” said The Boardroom’s CEO, Mark MacKinnon. “Snakes and Lattes is the ‘Gold Standard’ for board game cafes worldwide, and is the all-in-one model to which we have always strived. It’s a bit like working with your idol.”
Snakes & Lattes founder and President, Ben Castanie, will make an appearance at the closing. “As our first Canadian Snakes & Lattes cafe outside Toronto, our new Guelph location will play an important strategic role as we continue our corporate expansion,” said Castanie.
