Gaming Days, LLC, a company formed last year by a group of game store owners, have announced Board Game Expo, as an annual event at local game stores. It will debut April 4.
BGX will offer retailers and publishers an opportunity to work together and connect with players.
“We have always wanted to work more intimately with our friends in publishing to bring more fun to consumers. This is the first original event experience where we get to bring that work directly to gamers,” said Travis Severance, an owner at Gaming Days.
The event will provide early access to games along with unique play experiences. Gaming Days will work with Alliance Game Distributors on fulfillment for the event. Participating publishers includes AEG, Asmodee, Lucky Duck Games, Luma, The Op, Pandasaurus Games, Renegade Game Studios, and WizKids. with more publishers to be announced.
Gaming Days LLC. was formed by retailers Paul Alexander Butler, Steve Ellis, Rob Harrington, and Travis Severance in early 2019. The company acquired Free RPG Day in March 2019 from founder Aldo Ghiozzi.
“Our goal when we formed Gaming Days was to increase the number of gaming holidays on the calendar. We are working with some of the finest retailers and publishing partners to bring a high-quality experience to board game players of every experience level,” said Severance.
Retailers will apply to participate. Each will be provided with a kit they purchase. While the company is based in the US, they said they are open to international retailers if they can make the fulfillment work.
