Bloom, a retired Toys R Us executive, founded the news service in 1998 as a way to send news and information about the industry on the then fledgling internet. The newsletter reaches 8,500 subscribers in 29 countries. The service is free, but charges for listings and advertising.
“It has been a pleasure to provide this service to the toy industry and I have confidence that Mary Couzin and the CHITAG team will carry on my legacy and continue to provide this valuable service,” Bloom said in a press release.
After May 30 new subscriptions to the Bloom Report will be handled by CHITAG on their newsletter website.
